MQM's Rana Ansar becomes first woman opposition leader in Sindh Assembly

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Rana Ansar, a member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), was elected the opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly on Wednesday.
The MQM had submitted a request for the change of opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly, which received support from the MQM-P and the PTI dissidents.
Mrs Ansar was nominated for the position by the united opposition, and the Sindh Assembly speaker announced her position.
Rana Ansar is the first woman opposition leader in the provincial assembly.
The speaker of the assembly congratulated Mrs Ansar on becoming the first woman opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly and stated that once the notification is issued, it will be given to everyone.
The speaker prorogued the assembly session until 11am on Aug 2.
